Your initial psychiatric evaluation is approximately 60 minutes. We will discuss your symptoms, history, previous treatments, medications, lifestyle, and goals to develop an individualized treatment plan.
Yes. In person appointments are available at our Killeen office, with telehealth available for eligible patients based on location and clinical appropriateness. Telehealth visits require video. Phone only visits are not offered.

CopeWell Psychiatry primarily provides psychiatric care for individuals ages 17 to 64.

Integrative psychiatry combines evidence based psychiatric care with a whole person approach that may consider sleep, nutrition, physical activity, stress, lifestyle, laboratory testing, and supplementation when appropriate.
We do not provide therapy only services. Supportive psychotherapy may be incorporated into medication management visits, and we can collaborate with or refer you to a therapist when ongoing therapy is recommended.

Medications and Prescriptions

Stimulants may be prescribed when clinically appropriate and are kept within recommended dosing guidelines. CopeWell Psychiatry does not prescribe benzodiazepines such as Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin, Valium, Ambien etc. We also do not prescribe controlled medications to patients receiving opioid agonist treatment such as Suboxone, Subutex, Sublocade, or methadone.

Medication changes and refills are best addressed during scheduled visits. Follow up appointments are generally required every 30 to 90 days, depending on your treatment needs and medications.

Controlled medications require monthly visits, PDMP review, and periodic drug screening when appropriate. Automatic refills are not provided for controlled medications. Refills require an appointment, so please plan ahead to avoid running out, as CopeWell Psychiatry does not provide emergency refill services.

CopeWell Psychiatry does not provide primary treatment for conditions requiring specialized or higher levels of care, including primary psychotic disorders, schizophrenia,  personality disorders, autism, TBI, and active substance use disorders.

We also do not provide emergency or crisis care, benzodiazepine management, or controlled medications for patients receiving opioid agonist treatment.
